ARCHER prototype update.

A quick update for all our fans…

We are finishing up the electronics to make ARCHER #1 drive via remote control! The goal is to take the ARCHER to the desert and start running endurance tests. Calculations are great, but we want to see how long it will run in the real world. If there are people who want to join us, we will post up the time and dates for this “event.” Here’s what we hope to learn: (all test will be done with no payload and then 200lbs simulated payload)

* top speed ( & creep speed)
* longevity on battery power alone.
* recharge time of on-board batteries.
* fuel consumption at different speeds.
* rough terrain capabilities
* towing capabilities
* slope, departure, and approach capabilities
* and to see what breaks first!
