POSITION: Robotic Vehicle programmer / electronics specialist

LOCATION: Southern California (only)

JOB TYPE: Volunteer (with potential for full time employment & profit sharing)

We are a start-up company building a medium-size Robotic Vehicle called the ARCHER. We are currently looking for a talented and creative person to be our programmer, coder and software engineer. Having electronics experience is a big plus. This is not a full time position (yet). We are looking for passionate people, who love this type of work and are willing to put in the hard work to get this project off the ground! This is an extraordinary opportunity to get in “from the beginning” with a young company.

Currently, the team is all volunteers. We are actively in the process of raising Venture Capital for our company. Meanwhile, we work mostly evenings, weekends and put in many hours of our own time. We love what we’re doing and we see the huge potential in our products!

THE JOB:

The mechanical components of this vehicle are finished, a majority of the electronics are in place. We need the right person to help program the software and integrate the components.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Will include such items as; Design, development and integration of electrical, mechanical, computer hardware, software, and communications components. Creating, editing and debugging of the code that we produce. 99% of the technology we use is “off-the-shelf”

REQUIREMENTS:

* Must be proficient in C#, C++, Java and languages.
* Familiar with microcontrollers, computers and robotic components.
* Knowledge of signal processing techniques to enable control over electronic and mechanical components.
* Robotics programming experience and knowledge of the JAUS language is a big plus.
* Desire to work hard, learn and get things done, is more important than years of experience.
* Be able to work independently on time-sensitive tasks, to use your analytical, mathematical and electronics skills.
* 3rd or 4th year Electrical Engineering and/or Computer Sciences students are welcome to apply.
* Must be located in Southern California.
